About the Artist

Bill explains, “My books are illustrated with artwork by our friend, Charles Timothy Prutzer. My wife, Jeanette, met Tim at a conference in Colorado Springs and invited me to view some of his artwork which was then on display. We became good friends. When I discussed drafts of Covenent with Tim, he mentioned his painting named Freedom. Tim started painting Freedom at about the same time that I started writing Covenant. Tim finished Freedom just in time for us to use it as the cover of Covenant. Tim is an amazing artist, specializing in nature and animals. He first studies the history of the animals that he paints and precise details of their appearance and nature. Then he paints them with exact details. Freedom is a very effective cover for Covenant but his painting is even more outstanding. The Eagle that Tim painted is an exact depiction of a ferruginous hawk which is indigenous only to North America. Native Americans called it an eagle but it now is referred to as a hawk. The first Americans saw our history and our future through the eyes of an eagle which soars above, viewing the natural and the divine. This is the view of our forefathers who formed this nation and , hopefully, this will also be our view. Others see America as a hawk, a scavenger that desires to devour its pray.”

Charles Timothy Prutzer is an outstanding artist with a particular focus on nature. His murals are on public display in the Denver Zoological Foundation in Denver, Colorado and the Rocky Mountain National Park. His works have also been exhibited in museums and exhibits throughout the world. When Bill and Jeanette Hunter saw Prutzer's painting of The Leopard and the Kid, which appears on the cover of the Triumph of the Son, they thought it was one of the most outstanding paintings that they had ever seen. It depicted the words of Isaiah which tell of the victorious return of the Son of God.

The wolf will live with the lamb,
     the leopard will lie down with the goat,
     the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
     and a little child will lead them.

.for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
     as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:6 & 9b N.I.V.
